VINTAGE
While more challenging for red varietals, the 2024 vintage is looking to produce high-quality, ageable wines. Cooler temperatures and earlier-than-average rainfall contributed to a leaner body, but preserved much of their vibrant fruit aromatics and acidity, providing a fresh and elegant structure. While enjoyable now, we believe our 2024 Sangiovese will show best with at least five years of ageing.
VINEYARDS
The fruit for our Sangiovese IGT is sourced from our estate vineyards, situated at elevations ranging from 350 to 400 meters on rocky, southwest-facing slopes. These vineyards are planted with various Sangiovese clones from the Chianti Classico region and are trained using a combination of single and double Guyot systems.
VINIFICATION
These Sangiovese grapes undergo a whole berry, cold maceration period prior to the commencement of fermentation. After, the skins are gently pressed and the wine is aged for approximately one year in a combination of 60% stainless steel tanks and 40% French tonneaux before bottling.
TASTING NOTES
A softer expression of the varietal, this lighter bodied red with notes of red fruit and a hint of spice. The careful balance of aging techniques enhances its complexity, allowing the wine to maintain its fresh acidity and delicate floral notes while imparting depth, structure, and sophistication.
