VINTAGE
The 2022 growing season was overall warmer than usual, with a mild winter, a dry spring, and a hot summer. Lower than normal yields produced wines with ripe fruit notes, soft tannins, and moderate acidity, making them approachable and enjoyable as young wines.
VINEYARDS
Situated at an elevation of 350 to 400 meters above sea level, the vineyards in this selection are Guyot-trained and nestled on rocky slopes rich in clay and limestone, oriented towards the west. Viewed from above, the rows of the vineyard resemble fishbones, which is how it earned the name Lische.
VINIFICATION
The grapes are hand-harvested, carefully selected, and gently destemmed. Fermentation takes place on the skins for approximately three weeks to ensure significant extraction of colour, tannins, and aromatic compounds. The wine undergoes complete malolactic fermentation and is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for 18 months, followed by six months of bottle aging.
TASTING NOTES
Deep red in colour, the nose of this wine presents elegant notes of black cherry, complemented by floral aromas and delicate notes of vanilla and coffee. On the palate, it is characterized by structure and complexity. Best served at around 16°C.
