VINTAGE
The 2018 growing season saw average precipitation and a mild summer, resulting in lighter bodied, elegant wines with smooth tannins and bright aromatics.
VINEYARDS
Located at 400 meters elevation, this sinle selection Merlot vineyard is planted on rocky, west facing slopes, rich in clay and limestone.
VINIFICATION
The grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and then fermented on skins for approximately three weeks to extract tannin and colour. The wine then undergoes full malolactic fermentation and is aged for 24 months in small French oak barrique. Once bottled, the wine is aged for another 12 months before release.
TASTING NOTES
The combination of tannins and oak aging results in a medium-bodied structure with well-balanced acidity. This wine offers rich red fruit flavors, including cherry and plum, while its oak maturation imparts smooth spice characteristics, such as coffee, chocolate, and sweet tobacco.
